Happy Christmas.

Funny holiday story, which is all too typical of my family:

On Christmas Eve, we were discussing when the present opening festivities would commence. My mom and Keith suggested 7:00 AM. I was hoping it would be a lot closer to noon. At any rate, we managed to compromise on 9:00, agreeing that I would be allowed to sleep until then.

Wouldn't you know it, not long after seven, there's all kinds of noise in the house, including but not limited to the TV, loud coughing, and hammering. Yes, someone was pounding something with a hammer at 7:00 AM on Christmas day. About a half hour or so later, my brother comes in to get me up, since I must already be awake. Refusing to get out of bed before the previously arranged 9:00, I caused several parties to become upset, since I was obviously doing it just to be mean. I even had one of my favorite insults thrown at me: "Cindi, you're so selfish!"

So after I ruined Christmas (or at least an hour of it), we had a pretty good holiday. I got some great presents, the best of which, I suppose, was a fifty dollar bill. That's twenty-five no limit hold'em buy ins! (As a side note, having competed in nine tournaments, I've placed first twice, second twice, and third thrice, and I'm up nine dollars).

Tomorrow should be fun, too. The Old Man is saving his Christmas celebration for when Rhonda and Matt arrive. Should be a good couple of days when they're home. I had a good time at their place, at least. Plus, shortly thereafter, I'll get to go back to school. A great thing, since I kind of miss it. : )

Break. Finally.

Ah, the semester's finally over, except for finals of course, but who cares about them? It's great to be on break, catching up on some much needed sleep, doing some Christmas shopping, preparing myself for the excitement that is the holidays. Not long after the big day, however, I'm afraid I'll have to start doing a bunch of studying, making up for all that I haven't done during the year. : ) Nah, it isn't bad. Just need to make sure I don't screw up too terribly.

Next semester should be fun, but hard if I don't end up dropping one of my classes. Right now, I'm set to take math, physics, japanese, philosophy, and architecture. Pretty intense, I imagine, but I'll see how it goes, and I'll be prepared to drop one if I have to.

Unfortunately, I can't think of any amusing family stories from my week at home, so I'll have to cut this off.
